MMA VS EMA ?EMA (ethyl methacrylate) and MMA (methyl methacrylate) are two different types of acrylic monomers that are used in the nail industry. EMA is a more flexible and less harsh monomer that is commonly used in professional nail salons. It is considered to be a safer and more natural product, as it has a lower level of odor and is less likely to cause skin irritation. EMA also has a slower setting time, which allows nail technicians to work with it more easily. When using this liquid the nails are referred to SOLAR GEL NAILS rathen the ACRYLIC NAILS that uses MMA MMA, on the other hand, is a much stronger and harsher monomer that is not recommended for use in nail salons. It has a higher level of odor and can cause skin irritation, as well as more serious health problems with prolonged exposure. MMA also has a fast setting time, which makes it difficult for nail technicians to work with and can result in poorly applied acrylic nails. In the past, MMA was used more frequently in the nail industry due to its lower cost and fast setting time. However, many countries now regulate the use of MMA in nail products due to its potential health risks. Overall, EMA is considered to be a safer and more natural option for acrylic nails. If you are getting your nails done, it is important to ask your nail technician what type of monomer they are using to ensure that it is safe and high-quality.

WHY DID MY LASHES GO STRAIGHT?Heat– Any type of heat can cause the lashes to either fall out or straighten out. Think of it as a straightener for your hair…you use heat to get out all the curl in your hair and that is exactly what happens with your lashes. Avoid any steamy showers, saunas, or any abundance of heat. Heat can also loosen the glue bond with your lashes. Cooking over high heat on the stove, grill, and oven can de-curl your lash extensions and also singe them. This is because synthetic lashes are made from thermoplastuc fiber called PBT that loses shape when over heated. Avoid opening the microwave right away when wearing eyelash extensions. Also, avoid using blow dryers on the hot setting close to your lashes or getting a curler/ straightener close to them as well. Another thing to keep in mind is to avoid saunas and hot tubs for prolonged intervals of time. The Face Down Pillow Sleeper: When you get lash extensions it is recommended to sleep on your back. If sleeping on your side or face down it can cause a crimp in the lashes or “smoosh” the lashes. This can damage their default curls besides making them fall out earlier than usual. If you are sleeping on a cotton pillowcase, your lashes can get stuck on it and pull while you are sleeping. A silk pillowcase is always recommended. Lack of regular cleaning: When you fail to clean your lash extensions frequently, especially if you wear oil-based makeup, there are chances your false eyelashes may clump together and go straight with dirt, oil, and grime.
